How can I provide my dog with water while on the go?

Dogs require varying amounts of water. Their fluid intake needs depend on their body weight and can be significantly influenced by illness, activity level, and external temperature. On average, a dog requires 60ml of water per kg of body weight.

Healthy dogs can survive in extreme circumstances for up to 25 days without eating anything. However, they should always have unrestricted access to fresh water. Therefore, you should ensure your dog's water supply, especially when on the go, such as during long hikes or bike rides, or in hot weather. Even if you incorporate some training sessions during walks and use dog treats, your dog should always consume enough water. For this purpose, you can fill a regular water bottle and carry a foldable dog bowl with you. Make sure that the inside of the travel bowl is waterproof and does not leak. To save space, you can also use a travel dog water bottle, which combines a water bottle and a water bowl. This way, you can offer your dog a water break again and again.

How can I make sure my dog is visible even at dusk?

Since dogs eyes have more rods than humans do, they can see much better in twilight than we two-legged creatures. And precisely because humans have poorer visibility in low light, your dog should be sufficiently illuminated to protect them from accidents.

There are numerous options to make your dog more visible at dusk. Alongside dog coats with hi-vis colours and hi-vis reflective details, you can put a light-up collar on them. These are usually rechargeable via a USB connection and available in various colours. Matching hi-vis reflective dog leads are also available. Flashing LED attachments can provide additional visibility.

As a dog owner, you should also wear clothing that makes you visible to other road users. You can find a selection of reflective clothing in the Rider category. To keep a better eye on your dog and the surroundings despite the approaching night, a headlamp or hat with an integrated LED light is worth its weight in gold. This way, you can also quickly notice if your dog has snapped up something they shouldn't have.
