The fine perforation on the knees of the Equilibre Grip Full Seat Riding Tights Amanda ensures optimal ventilation even in extreme temperatures.

Closely woven fabrics form a solid barrier between the body heat generated and the outside environment. To ensure we don’t feel the cold in our clothes during winter, we look for features such as tight cuffs on tops, for example, to trap the warm air created by movement inside the garment.

In summer, however, when outside temperatures are warm, care must be taken to ensure body heat can be released, and that a dangerous build-up of heat does not occur beneath the clothing. This can be countered by wearing breathable clothing. Depending on the material, even tightly woven fabrics can reliably wick body heat and moisture away from the body; mesh inserts and, in this case, the innovative laser cut details further aid the transport of sweat and heat. Riders stay dry and can cool down as the ideally cooler ambient air penetrates the fabric.

Airy long sleeve shirts for protection from the sun

Many people are now aware of the risk of skin cancer posed by UV rays, and sun protection is a top priority during the warmer months, particularly for riders, as they usually spend a great deal of time outdoors.

To protect against the sun, sun cream along with clothing forms a good barrier, to block UV radiation. Even a standard dark cotton shirt can provide UV protection of 20+.

How are the laser cuts actually created?

As the name suggests, a textile laser is used to create the fine perforations in the fabrics of the Laser Cut Collection; the extreme heat generated by the laser enables cuts or patterns to be made in textiles. Sportswear, which is mostly made of synthetic fibres, is particularly well-suited to this process, as the edges fuse cleanly and cannot fray. As there is no need to add further seams around the ventilation holes in this case, the perforations lie flat against the skin and prevent pressure points or chafing. The laser cut process thus enables delicate designs with maximum comfort.
