Multifunctional turnout rug with practical liner combination system made of proven, breathable and waterproof 600 denier ripstop material (3000 mm WP, breathability 3000 g/m2/24h) with subtle check pattern. Thanks to the fixing eyelets and Velcro fasteners, the rug can be easily combined with the matching THERMO MASTER Combination-System quilted inner rugs (422 483 and 422484), the combination system fleece inner rug (422 482) and the combination system neckpiece (422 481). This way, the degree of warmth of the rug can be adjusted individually in a flash, depending on the outside temperature. The soft shoulder pads on the sides (fleece inside) allow optimum pressure distribution when the head is lowered. Smooth, coat-friendly inner lining. Generous gusset for optimum freedom of movement. Double, width adjustable front fastening with D-rings and snap hooks as well as additional Velcro and adjustable cross surcingles. Fixture for attaching leg cords, adjustable tail strap and tail flap. 100% polyester.
Denier is a unit of measurement. It is the ratio of mass or weight to length. Denier is the unit for the thickness of the thread or yarn, which is used in the production of fabrics. Fabrics with a higher denier (DEN) count tend to be thicker and more durable.
Face materials are considered waterproof from a waterproofness of 1,300 mm/m2/24 h. A waterproofness of 3,000 mm/m2, for example, means that a cylinder filled with water can be filled to a height of 3,000 mm at 60 mbar/min before water penetrates the fabric. Apart from the water column, the coating and the waterproof processing of the seams are decisive factors - these should be laminated/taped or welded.
Breathability refers to the ability of a man-made fibre or natural fibre to release the body's own water vapor. Breathable fabrics allow for quick drying already during use and thus prevent both heat build-up from the body under the fabric as well as cooling due to dammed up moisture.
Ripstop fabrics are fabrics in which thicker threads are woven in at intervals of 5 to 8 millimetres, resulting in increased tear resistance. If the material tears at one point, the ripstop property ensures that the material only tears up to the next thicker thread. Ripstop fabrics can be clearly recognised by their typical crosshatched threads structure
Taped or welded seams prevent water from penetrating through the seams of the horse rug. This is particularly important for field kept horses as well as during heavy rainfall to ensure that the horse is well protected against moisture penetration.
