What is the best way to care for my Western boots?

Western boots are the pride and joy of many Western riders. With good care, boots for Western riders can even last a lifetime.
Western boots made of leather must be subjected to regular, intensive leather care. Especially creases should be avoided or treated as much as possible. The best way to avoid creases in your western boots is to use shoe trees. Alternatively, you can use thick socks to stuff the shoe.
If there are already creases in your Western boots, you can dampen them evenly with a clean cloth and hot water. Then heat the boot with a hairdryer on a low setting while massaging the leather. Then leave the boot to dry overnight and apply a leather conditioner the next day.
Regular leather care is also a good idea for the decorative stitching on the boot shaft, as well as the stitching on the sole and around the instep.
It is easier to care for Western boots made of imitation leather. All you have to do is clean them with a little water and then let them dry thoroughly. Finally, you can apply a imitation leather care product that provides lasting care for the material.
You can find step-by-step instructions for the correct care of your Western boots in our guide to shoe and boot care and in our guide to leather care.

Which Western boots are lined?

Leather as a natural product has many great properties. Rough leather in particular, for example, protects against the cold to a certain extent. Therefore, Western boots made of leather with a lining are suitable for the winter. In our online shop you will find many Western boot styles with soft fleece lining, warm teddy fleece lining or wool.
Alternatively, you can wear thick woollen socks in your Western boots, which is especially practical against cold feet during the transitional seasons.

Which riding boots are suitable for Western riding?

Western boots are simply part of a stylish Western outfit. Western riding boots are usually calf-high and have side loops at the end of the shaft for easy slipping on. Boot edges at the heel are extremely practical for attaching and holding spurs.
As in English riding, the type of footwear is necessary for safe riding. Western boots, for example, must have a slight heel to prevent the foot from slipping through the stirrup. The sole must be wide enough to allow the rider to rest his foot comfortably in the stirrup and to provide a secure grip during sharp manoeuvres. The sole should also be non-slip.
A sufficiently wide boot shaft makes it easier to slip in and out. But make sure that the shaft does not protrude too far from the calf, so that it no longer has any hold on the leg and may slip off the foot when riding.
The Western boots that you can buy at Kramer Equestrian don't just look stylish with their ornate and contrasting decorative stitching. They also have a reinforced sole in the ankle area for high stability and safety of the foot. The comfortable, shock-absorbing inner soles and robust outer soles ensure maximum comfort. With their impressive look, they complete every show outfit or become a fashionable highlight during training.
In our online shop you will find a large selection of riding boots for Western riding under the STONEDEEK and RANCH-X brands. From simple, plain-coloured designs to Western boots with colourful boot shafts to lined Western boots, you can buy practical as well as fashionable riding boots for Western riding. Robust work boots round off the range of Western boots.
