Maize cobs for soaking. Ideal high-energy and high-fibre forage supplement for horses in hard work, poor doers or older horses. The energy contained is released slowly and in the large intestine of the horse due to the high fibre content and thus has a long-term performance-enhancing effect. Our maize cobs consist of the whole plant including stalks and leaves, which prevents the animal's metabolism from being unnecessarily burdened by an excessively high starch content. At the same time, the cobs are very low in protein and therefore easily digestible. They are also free of molasses and added sugar. We therefore recommend feeding maize cobs to thin or old horses, as a substitute or supplement for hard feed, for a low-protein diet, for endurance, eventing and trail riding horses or also for nervous and fizzy horses due to the slow release of energy.
Feeding instructions: Per 100kg body weight 100g to 300g daily, depending on need and work. Start slowly with small amounts until the desired amount of feed is reached. Preferably soak the cobs in warm water. Mixing ratio at least 3 : 1 (water : maize cobs). Allow to soak for approx. 15 minutes before feeding. The amount and temperature of water can be adjusted according to the horse's preferences.
Ingredients: Maize cobs from the whole maize plant (dried and pelleted).
